Your hips support your posture, balance, core, breath, stress, and daily movement habits.

Common Hip Patterns I See in Clients
Here are the REAL reasons hips feel tight
• Weak deep core → hips grip hard to stabilise
The deep core switches off, the hips jump in.
• Too much sitting → hips stay “shortened”
Your body adapts to the way you spend the most time in.
• Stress + shallow breathing → hips & pelvis lock
High chest breathing = limited movement in lower ribs and pelvis.
• Postpartum changes → hips take on extra load
The pelvis + core change, making the hips work overtime.
• Weak glutes → hip flexors take over

What Actually Helps (Not Deep Stretching)
Deep stretching can sometimes make tight hips grip harder because the body doesn’t feel safe.
What actually helps is anything that tells the nervous system,
“You’re supported — you can let go now.”
That includes:
• gentle hip mobility
• breath-led movement
• waking up the glutes
• releasing tension before it builds
• supporting the deep core
• self-massage around the hips, glutes, and low back
• small, consistent resets
Self-massage is especially powerful because it helps:
reduce protective guarding, improve circulation, and prepare the hips to release without forcing them.
